POING + Hekate = a-ha

2025 marks 40 years since the official start of Norway’s biggest pop adventure. A-ha’s debut album Hunting High and Low was a huge success world wide, with five hit singles: Take on me, Love is Reason, The Sun Always Shines on TV, Train of Thought, as well as the title track. A-ha has more than once been named a British pop success, but this time POING and Hekate will also show the Norwegian folk elements they claim to find in these pop tunes. POING mainly performs contemporary music, but they also improvise, play songs and world music, as a trio or with various collaborators. They have previously made their own versions of classical Norwegian rock/pop albums by Hillbillies and Åge Aleksandersens, at Riksscenen and at festivals in Norway. This time they join forces with Norway’s most exciting vocal trio, consisting of three folk singers from the top shelf: Synnøve Brøndbo Plassen, Silje Risdal Liahagen and Malin Alander.
