Ingebjørg Loe Bjørnstad: Duv

In winter 2024 vocalist to record her songs in Øra Studio in Trondheim. Sound engineer Kyrre Laastad put all three musicians close together in the same room and facilitated a live recording in an intimate and chamber hall-like atmosphere. In three days they recorded 11 songs.

The performers’ background from jazz, contemporary and traditional music can be heard both in the compositions and the arrangements. Ingeborg’s lyrics in Norwegian circle around physical expressions for emotions, they investigate dualities concerning violence and sensuality, beauty and ugliness, loneliness and companionship. In addition to her own songs, Ingebjørg has put lyrics to three melodies by Håkon Thelin, Sondre Meisfjord and Trygve Seim. Some of the music was arranged by Ingebjørg before the recording session, while other parts were worked out by the three musicians in the studio.

Frode Haltli also played in duo with Ingebjørg Loe Bjørnstad on her debut album Hæm.
