Winter 2003/2004 Unni Løvlid visited the village Tang’an in Guizhou, China. Here she met Yingmei, Xin Zhi, Chuan Ping and Anhua of the Dong people. The four musicians were invited to Norway to make a program for the Førde International Folk Music Festival 2004. Together with Frode Haltli, Terje Isungset and Unni Løvlid they were able to find a common musical expression, between western and eastern, a musical meeting across language and culture.
The seven musicians met again in Guizhou in 2005, in connection with an international conference on the eco-museum project. They carried through a long concert tour in China, which has resulted in this live album.
