Kayser, Leif: Arabesques 30′

Leif Kayser (1919-2001) composed his ‘Arabesques’ as a commission from the Danish Accordion Teachers Union (DAU) in 1974. Mogens Ellegaard, teacher and musician, wanted a collection of easy pieces for pedagogical use. However, the music turned out to be more challenging then he imagined. Kayser composed eagerly and fast, and in close relationship with Mogens Ellegaard. The collection of 10 Arabesques was premiered at the Royal Danish Concervatory of Music in the spring 1975.
